Here are a couple of photos to show that even we senior missionaries do some light-hearted (light-minded??) things just like the young missionaries.
On our May visit to the doctor, we were sent to the T1 hospital to get authorization for Gerhard to receive his hormone blocker medication for another 6 months. Before we entered the specialty area we had to use hand sanitizer and were given protective masks as a result of the "swine flu"--H1N1-- scare. While we waited to get the doctor's signature we saw other visitors to the hospital wearing the masks, but the hospital personnel were now either being brave or realized that the masks would not be much protection.


Carrots left in the vegetable compartment for some time will begin to grow green tops. This has been the basis for many kindergartener's experience with growing things, and we found that it works in Mérida, also. A little plastic container on the kitchen windowsill made a great "garden" site for about a week and reminded us of the garden in Dublán.
