Sister Smith has sewed clothes for herself and her family, made a jillion quilts as gifts and wanted to be able to sew here, too. There was an issue about the temple sewing machine just after she arrived, so she bought her own sewing machine, planning to leave it when they went home. Now that she has broken her wrist and can't use it, she came over one morning to give Sis. Richards and me a lesson in how to thread it and some of the special tricks we would need to know.

While we were practicing and having a lot of fun, Gerhard was working on his computer and teasing us.

We learned to use the sewing machine so we could shorten the new temple dresses that had arrived. Our hems weren't professional, but they should do well.
It is a blessing to be able to work together and enjoy each other's company both in and out of the temple.
