Before President and Sister Oropeza returned home to Puebla on Dec. 15, 2009 we dressed in our whites and took pictures in front of the temple with the gorgeous poinsettias (that is dew on the flowers, definitely not frost).

Mérida México Temple Presidency July 2008 to Dec 2009.
Mercedes de Oropeza, 1st Counselor Pdte. David Oropeza A., Matron Mirna Dyer, President Ronald E. Dyer, Carol Schill, 2nd Counselor Gerhard D. Schill E.

The presidency with the missionaries: Flor Soto, Luz Sánchez, Elsa andVictor Verlinden, Marial and Dale Mortenson (Church Education missionaries who also came as temple workers), Cheryl and Stephen Smith.

The missionaries chose to pose in the shade :)

We will miss this very capable, knowledgeable couple. They have served obediently and faithfully during their term and can "return with honor."
We admired a beautiful huilpil that sister Deborah Iris de Cejín wore at the temple and asked her how to get one like it. She took us to Muna, a little town about an hour away, where a woman makes them on her little sewing machine. Sister Smith went out when the dresses were done and watched her doing the embroidery on the lace. We have been given many compliments on our Mayan dresses.
