It's the maintenance closing and many things are going on at once. When I walk in, the temple feels more like a construction site than the House of the Lord. I can't wait until July 13th when the workers come in and see the changes and the new additions!
When we arrived Monday morning just after 7:00 A.M., Bro. Cetina's workers were already climbing to start caulking on the roof of the temple.

This is their 2nd time in Mérida, so we are lucky.
Bro. Bedeker and ___________who came to recover the seats in the endowment rooms. They came with the material already cut and prepared so all they had to do was staple and paste. They did both rooms in two days.
Ignacio (Nacho) Tyub (center) and his assistant, Spencer (L) do the carpentry and the refinishing of painted and gilded areas inside the temple. Nacho is a master craftsman who has had his own business for 4 years.
The camera had been stored inside the temple. When I took it out to take a picture, the lens fogged up because of the outside heat and humidity. Tropical storm Alex was visiting Mérida at this time.
.Before becoming the official temple carpenter and painter, Nacho worked with Bro. Cetina (R), a contractor who handles most of the repairs.

Bishop Zeniff Leo (pushing) and his crew are installing two new commercial size washers and dryers for the temple laundry. Sis. Richards and I will have fun learning how to program the different cycles of the washers, since we wash all kinds of things from large baptism towels to transparent nylon veils and sashes and the dirty overalls of the maintenance people.
