We were told by Pres. Carl Call that buzzards sit on the Angel Moroni statue, but this big one was sitting right on the trumpet! Pres. Call wanted a rifle to shoot the birds and Pres. Dyer dreams of using a slingshot to knock one off its perch.

There are lots of new things to observe at the temple right now.
The other day while Pres. Richards was sick with a bad cold, Sis. Richards came over and we got out of the house for a little walk around the grounds. Bro. Cornelio had just planted some new petunias in beds in front of the temple, and we observed the variety and the combinations of colors.
Petunias thrive in hot, sunny weather, but recently we have had cool, wet days and nights, so we watch to see if they are going to survive.
This lightly pink bougainvillea is covered with flowers right now. It stands by itself in a raised bed and is beautiful. We see others as we go around town, so maybe there is a time when they bloom best.
The newest addition to the temple grounds are the security cameras. They are in strategic locations and together with the interior cameras can take pictures of all the outside areas and the entrances. Gerhard and Bro. Garduño, the new Facilities Manager, met on Monday for some training about the security system. They watched the videos that had been taken the last couple of weeks. We hope there is not a need to use all the technology that is available, but it is better to be prepared.
