This is the sign above the door of the dentist's office where we have gone for cleanings, fillings, Gerhard's two crowns and his nightguard or "tooth pillow" to keep his teeth from wearing down when he clenches them at night.

The dentist's office is between 67th and 65th streets like the temple, but one block east on 68th. It is close to the Red Cross complex which is why we so often hear the sirens of the ambulances.

The receptionist's desk for the dentist, a pediatrician and the laboratory which occupy this office area. The lighted figure of the Virgen is very common, even in offices, as is the head of Christ.

Gerhard is a head taller than Dr. Solis, and head and shoulders taller compared to the assistant, Ariana, Dr. Solis' sister. That is the way he usually looks when he stands by the people here, since the Maya people are short in stature.

Don't they look like very nice people? Ariana teases Gerhard that he always looks like the sacrificial lamb when he comes into their office. She is glad to see that he looks much happier when he is ready to leave.
We met Ariana when she came to the temple for the first time. I asked Sis. Verlinden to accompany her, which was a blessing for both of them. Sis. Verlinden needed some dental work done and Ariana needed a friend. Since then we have gone many times to their office and tried to encourage her to come back to the temple. She does have a problem with arranging a time when she can be out of the office, but we keep hoping.
