Today we traveled through the states of Puebla, México, Tlaxcala, Querétaro, Guanajuato, San Luís Potosí, and stopped in Zacatecas about dusk. The drive was very pleasant, and tonight we are resting to start out early tomorrow.. We have gone from tropical climate and settings to mountain peaks and through farmland with cornfields to deserts with prickly pear cactus that grows only the nopales leaves and tuna fruit.
Tomorrow, more of the trip home - maybe, all the way to Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua!

These two years and four months we have been increasingly grateful for technology as it enabled us to be in touch with family and friends across the miles, to talk to our children, to let Opa whistle bird calls for grandchildren, to do family history, to read about religion/politics/ health, and to make presentations and to produce countless reports and forms related to the Temple.
On this trip home, it has given Gerhard great peace of mind. He can enjoy watching the car head off into unmarked territory on the GPS, because he has better information than "The Lady" does. Bro. Oropeza downloaded several pages from the official government website so we would know mileage for each junction, each toll booth and how much it would cost us, even the approximate cost of gasoline for the car.
Google Maps let us make a picture of our route with markers for each stop.
