For a surprise, Gerhard took the camera today when we went downtown. He took pictures of places that have been special for us, starting with the Social Security Clinica #52 (once called Casa del Palamar), and then to other places along the route we travel each month.
He has always been intrigued by the site of the Santa Inquisición in Mérida.
It is on the corner across the street from the building called Las Monjas because of the church on the next block. The whole area has the same name.
The barbershop where Gerhard had good haircuts is on that corner, too. We were sad to learn that the proprietor had cancer and had passed away.
All over town there are stands selling peeled fruit, boiled corn on the cob, junk food and drinks.

As we come up the home stretch on 65 we notice that the old buildings across the street from the beautiful new stake center are being refinished, and the shabby Mormon bar (inside which is the storeroom for church things)
and "The Divine Redeemer," the corner store where we bought lunch in emergencies. Next was Sister Yari's and Isabel's home.

One week before the clock stopped ticking, we made time to take pictures of the outgoing presidency and missionaries.
The angel Moroni was part of the group -
Now you can see our smiling faces: Us, the Dyers, the Richards
Sis. Dyer had asked the brethren at the Facilities Manager's office to take pictures. Bro. Garduño and Bro. González wanted to take a picture of us with the buganvillas in the background

What a pretty setting for our good-bye picture
