This afternoon I saw something on MormonTimes.org that was a sequel to another experience.
During the month of January the wards were announcing a visit from the Young Men and Young Women General presidency from Salt Lake.
I almost wished I were still a young Women leader :)
Three weeks ago we visited the Kanek Ward. They had a great meeting where a missionary who was leaving spoke as well as his sister and mother. The young girl talked about doing what is right, even if it is difficult. She told us that the previous afternoon she had to make a choice whether or not to go to the meeting with the Young Men and Young Women General Presidents here in Mérida. It was not an easy choice for her, but she did go with the youth from her ward. She expressed her appreciation for the messages she heard and how they will help her in the future.
We see these very special youth coming to the temple almost every night, and feel that they will be the great leaders that the Lord's kingdom needs.

The trip marked the first time the Young Men General President and Young Women General President — with their spouses — have traveled together to train local leadership and meet with the youth. The group visited Mexico City, Puebla, Veracruz, Villahermosa, Mérida and Cancun, Mexico Jan. 9 through 18.

"What we saw is what we were hoping for," said Sister Elaine S. Dalton. "These choice descendants of Lehi are blossoming like a rose, just like the scriptures say. They are rising and shining as never before."

Elaine S. Dalton, Young Women general president, noted how youth in Mexico are blossoming like a rose.

Sister Dalton said they made the trip at the invitation of the Area Presidency, who has placed an emphasis on developing the youth as leaders. "The youth are so incredible."

Brother Dahlquist said he spoke to the young men about the importance of the Duty to God program. He challenged the Aaronic Priesthood holders to prepare now for full-time missions in their homeland and througout the world. "We gave them the clear message that we need young men from Mexico serving missions," he said.
