Valentine's Day in Mérida--
The days are getting warmer, the trees are losing their leaves because of the seasonal drought, so what would you expect to find at the grocery store? Not tulips--yes, there they were, all colors, some in full bloom and others just opening.
Gerhard chose a flower with three dark red buds. We brought it home very carefully, watered it with ice cubes to trick the bulb into thinking it was beginning to bloom in cool weather, and look how beautiful!
Just as the plant was at its maximum beauty, Gerhard practiced some macro photography. Enjoy!
