Health update: We have finished making the rounds to get into the Social Security system here in Mérida.
Gerhard likes our family doctor, Dr. Coelli Ku "100% Maya." He recognizes the limits of what he can do and knows who to see and how to get the specialized treatment and more modern medicine we have had through the influence of private doctors in Nuevo Casas Grandes. Gerhard's sonogram showed normal organs; however, his lab tests indicated high cholesterol, so he has medication and diet suggestions for that. He wants to get the opinion of the doctors he was seeing before he starts the new things.
For my osteopenia I am to start by seeing a rheumatologist, but everything else is good.
Thankfully, we are younger and in better health than many of the people we work with. Modern technology has given them artificial joints, internal tubes, hormone replacements, and a brother has an artificial eye.
