This Sunday Gerhard was assigned to visit the Tizimín Stake Conference. To the right is a picture of the stake center where one of the three wards meets in the city of Tizimín, about 2 1/2 hours west and north of Mérida by way of a very modern toll highway. The lush vegetation that we saw along the road starts just over the wall around the property.
It was standing room only, and the congregation is represented by the two pictures below. As with our other visits to units in the temple district we were very impressed with the caliber of leadership and the thoughtful talks. We look forward to seeing many of these people in the temple in September when their stake has an excursion.
A brother told Gerhard that "tizimín" means horse in Maya, and the legend is that a horse ran loose at night. That sounds like the "llorona" of Chihuahua or the "nochtfrau" of Germany :)

Oh, pretty! It looks and sounds like a different country... but it's not. That is good that you guys are able to get the medical attention that you need down there. Thanks for posting the information about Gaby's graduation (and U. Lynn's good notes!)- It sounds like there were some good talks!
