Yucatán celebrates two days--November 1 and 2-- All Saints' Day and the Day of the Dead with altars and flowers and incense. The Temple also celebrated Saturday, Oct. 31, but not the traditional Halloween with trick or treats. We hadn't expected much attendance because of all the traditional activities, so we were surprised to see that over 1,330 ordinances were performed. A young couple came for their own sealing, but all the other ordinances were for those on the other side of the veil. It was a busy evening for us.
Friday night as we walked to the Temple in the warm afternoon, seeing the palm trees and the bougainvillea blossoms, we spoke of Oma and celebrated her 100th birthday with a little time to remember her and the family. Gerhard has made some more progress in identifying children in families he has been researching, so now there are more "forever families" if they choose to accept.
